How It Works

Traditional alarm systems alert monitoring centres without providing visual context, forcing operators to guess the nature of the event—leading to high rates of costly false alarms.

The Video Guard system solves this by bridging your existing alarm panel and surveillance cameras. This integration provides operators with instant, verified video footage of any trigger event. This certainty allows for immediate, proactive intervention and transforms your security from reactive notification to intelligent, effective defence.

1. The Problem: "Blind" Alarm Monitoring

Traditional alarm systems are excellent at detecting motion or a door opening, but they don't tell the monitoring centre what caused the alarm. This lack of visual context leads to a high rate of false alarms from pets, employees, or even weather, leaving operators uncertain and inefficient.

2. The CHeKT Solution: Bridging Alarms and Video

The core of Video Guard's solution is the CHeKT Bridge. This device acts as a universal hub, physically connecting to your existing alarm panel and sensors while also integrating with your IP or analogue cameras via the local network. It creates a unified system where every alarm zone is paired with a camera.

3. The Trigger Event: Instant Video Verification

When an alarm sensor is triggered (e.g., by an intruder), the signal is sent to the CHeKT Bridge. In a fraction of a second, the Bridge automatically pairs this alarm signal with the live video feed from the camera assigned to that zone. This creates a single, comprehensive "video verification event" for the monitoring centre.

4. The Monitoring Centre: Proactive Response

The monitoring operator receives the alarm not as a blind signal, but as a clear video feed of the event. They can immediately verify if a real threat exists. If an intruder is confirmed, the agent can use CHeKT's features, such as the Live Talk-Down function, to broadcast a live voice warning to the site, often deterring the criminal before any damage is done.

5. The Outcome: Deterrence and Notification

The combination of immediate verification and proactive intervention often leads to the intruder fleeing the scene. The monitoring operator then resolves the alarm and sends a notification to the customer via the CHeKT app or SMS. This message includes a link to the recorded video clip, giving the customer complete peace of mind and a clear understanding of the event.

The Video Guard system automatically logs every action taken by the monitoring operator—including video viewing, talk-down broadcasts, and SMS verification requests—directly into the central station's alarm automation software.
